My best friend and I went to went to Palm Springs to celebrate her birthday in July. From the moment we checked in our experience was wonderful. Since it was mid week we got a chance to pick our room location and the hotel was less crowded. We stayed on the 3rd floor down the hall from the elevator. After check in we strolled down the main street and it happened the local "street fair" that night. We met a lot of very nice people and vendors. We shopped and mingled with the locals. It was great. The next day we had spa day-I am so glad I scheduled our massages for 1 pm. This allowed us to sleep in-the beds were very comfortable and we were so relaxed we didn't wake up until 11 am. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and gave us great resturant recommendations. After spending most of the day at the spa we got into the hot springs where we met couples from LA, Orange County everyone was so nice and told us they come and stay here all the time because of the location and the great service. I'm already planning a 'Sister's Weekend' in October-I would recommend this hotel/spa to anyone who's in the area. One of the great things I liked even better was the casino not inside of the hotel it's located about 1/2 block away.
My two friends and I stayed here for two nights to just hang poolside and gamble at the casino. We were under the impression that the casino and hotel were within one building, but are actually located down the street from each other (about a city block). We had a balcony room with a great view, overlooking the pool and hot springs. The room was okay, beds very comfortable although there was a strong mildew odor in the room. I believe this hotel is associated with Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage, which is a nicer hotel than this one.
My friend and I stayed one night to make use of the only real hot springs in Palm Springs and we weren't disappointed. Unfortunately the nearby fires created too much smoke to go outside at night but the next day was fine and we were able to use the hot and cool pools. We booked on Hotels.com for a good rate and got a $25 food credit and another $25 for the casino where we, as total novices, made $94 at the slot machines. The hotel doesn't have much charm but is a good value for the money. All in all a fun stay and the food at the pool bar was surprisingly good.
We stayed only one night ... a Sunday night, to be exact. We had absolutely flawless service at the front desk checking in .. was even offered the choice of locations of either near the elevator or further down. We chose further down and were glad we did ... had absolutely no noise, although it is a hike to the lift! Our room was spacious and spotless ... the free wi fi was a bonus, as was the complimentary (but paid for, ultimately) parking. We don't like the resort fee that is now added on ... but that is everywhere, and since we were paying it anyway, we spent a pleasant hour or so at the very busy pool area ... and probably wouldn't have otherwise! Only negative for me was the bathroom ... I understand this is an older hotel, and the bathrooms are smaller than in a more modern one. However, how difficult is it to put in a fan? No ventilation at all ... it would be nice. The hotel provides a complimentary golf cart (but big) shuttle service to and from the casino, which is just up the street. But when it is 110 degrees outside (and that is at 9 PM), it is nice to have someone drive you even half a block. When you are finished at the casino, the personnel at the front will call the hotel for the shuttle to come pick you up. We liked it a lot ... a really nice getaway! And it didn't hurt that we had a Player's Card coupon that took the price way down! We did ask for a room over the pool, but were told it would be an additional $25 ... hindsight tells us we were glad we had the quiet of our room, with a decent mountain view.
We, a retired couple in our 70's, took our 9 yr old and 10 yr old grand kids to this hotel. Great Place for kids, because the casino is across the street, so they aren't exposed to that. There is a ping pong table, games to check out, and the pool and spa were fun for them. Location is great, we found a great yogurt store one block up, also mexican restaurant and pizza restaurant, all within walking distance.
My girl friends and I stay at the resort every year and go to the spa. The hotel is old but they are trying to kept things updated. The rooms are quite large and very clean, If you go request a room overlooking the pool which is a mountain view,There are three pools one reg pool and two hot mineral pools . There is no coffee maker in the rooms and they closed there hotel restaurant, which we do not like but they do have room service. The casino is a easy walk just down the street, and the restaurants there are great. overall we will keep going ever year for our girls spa weekend
I was in Palm Springs last week and stayed at the Spa Resort Casino. After reading several reviews on TripAdvisor I wondered if I made the right choice. After staying there, however, I found the hotel to be very nice, clean and the staff was very personable. The only pitfall I had in the room was there was not a lot of shower pressure and when I looked up to rinse my hair, the vent in the shower was extremeley dirty. I informed the hotel twice about it and no one cleaned it. Either way, the beds and pillow were extremely comfortable. The pool was awesome due to its size, but there were a couple days when there were more kids than I would like. The pool bar was great and had very friendly staff working there. The casino was fun, and was usually quite busy. I was under the impression it was a good block and a half away, it literally was on the next street corner, no need for a car. Would definitely stay there again!
Long story short, my stay was nice. So nice that I wanted to stay another night. The front desk stated that all rooms are booked. I get that and understand that rooms may not be available. As I was looking for another room in the area, I noticed that another room was available. I went to the front desk and said "I think there has been a misunderstanding" they reassured me that if there was another room available they would know....they work there and they should know. I told them that I found a room available online. They stated its not possible. I asked what they would do with a random person who came in after placing the reservation I found on their website. They stated they would give them a room if that happened but for some reason they could not give one to me. I said "fine I will just book this room I found on your website". They eventually gave me the room. I should not feel unwelcome in a hotel I paid more then $200 a Night to stay in. The bell men and parking assistants were amazing. Sorry I typed this on my iPhone.
Stayed there on honeymoon 30 years ago. Great then but not so much now. Drapes wouldn't open, no in-room coffee service, fridge too big for cupboard, and very dark bathroom. Spa was dated as well. Pink and turquoise but not kitchie, just old and creepy. Won't stay there again!
I had not been to Palm Springs sense 1968 so the place has change a lot sense my last visit. I knew there was a casino in town but I was not sure where? We walked right past the Spa Resort Casino and didn't even know what it was. They had re-modled and maybe changed locations sense I was last here. We were staying at the Hyatt and when they told us the location, we turned right around and walked right to it. The Casino was clean and we didn't notice the smoke like there is in a lot of casino's. My wife found one of her favorite types of slot machines and went right to work. $400 later, we walked out a happy couple. She gambles and I watch her and people watch. She's lucky and I'm not so I gave up gambling long ago! I always like to say that I back her, act as her body guard and carry the money! We had a good time and that's what it's all about.
