Stayed at Sawmill Creek condo's June 5th - 11th 2013 during our recent Colorado vacation with our two Grandchildren. It was very clean, comfortable and within walking distance of the downtown area. We had a two bedroom condo with a queen in one bedroom and two double in the other which suited our required sleeping arrangements. The only negative was the condo is located quite close to a main road and there was traffic noise. You could also hear the people walking around in the condo above you. The key's we were given would not open the doorknob lock only the deadbolt so we could not lock both locks. Maintenance opened the doorknob lock with the master key and said we should exchange our keys at the registration office. Since the registration office was located downtown away from our condo, we made due and only locked the deadbolt rather than make a special trip to the office. ( I really felt they could have delivered a replacement key to us rather than required us to make an additional trip ) . This problem aside it is a nice place to stay in Breckenridge.
This is our family's second year staying for a week of skiing in this condo and we still love it. It is at the end of the 4 o'clock run, so you can ski home at the end of the day and you can catch a bus right outside the condo to the Peak 8 gondola or the bottom of Peak 7. Rooms are comfortable, the kitchen complete, and the living areas nicely decorated and relaxing with a gas fire. This is a well taken care of condo! Will be back next year.
We just booked our next ski trip at Sawmill Creek 203 after spending a wonderful week there last year. Our kids love the Western decorations, especially the cowboy chaps and Indian deerskin shirt. But best of all we had an easy walk to town for dinner and a quick and easy bus ride to Peak 8. The bus is easier than the gondola or lower lifts which were very crowded. Steve and Anne keep their place in great shape -- modern and fully equipped. Last year the snow was disappointing but we still had fun.
Stayed at the condo in March 2012 for a week of skiing with my family. Loved the condo and the perfect location at the end of the 4 o'clock run. We have stayed at the Sawmill Creek condo complex three times in the last three years and this was bar far the best condo. It is really nicely furnished and taken care of. great condo, great location! The Murphy bed was a really comfortable, useful addition.
This is a condo building with 50 or so individually owned units. Some are rented, some are not, some nice and apparently some not. Ignore this website and look at individual units through some other website like VRBO that actually understands what this is. Very sloppy and misleading work, Tripadvisor. I'm disappointed.
We had another great summer vacation week in Breckenridge. We have stayed in several different condo units in the Sawmill Creek complex over the past 10 years and have always been completely satisfied. The condos are always very clean and in good order. The location, a block from Main Street and the Riverwalk Center can't be beat. If you come to Breckenridge in the summer, be sure to attend concerts at the Riverwalk Center of the National Repertory Orchestra and the Breckenridge Music Festival for some of the finest concert and chamber musicians in the country. The views of the mountains are spectacular. We have never had noise or experienced rowdy people. We typically pay less than $100 a night for a 2BR, a rate far superior to any hotel chain anywhere in the country. Great Western is an excellent rental agent and very accommodating.
the unit we booked was already taken. The management gave us #107 instead. This unit should not be rented. Unit was dirty and totally outdated: bedding was worn out with holes in blankets!!!, washer and dryer from the past century, vent and outlets in bathroom was not working right, rugs stuck to the ground, were never moved to be cleaned, crumbs in the sleeping sofa. We stayed last year in unit # 202 and had a very pleasant experience. Overall the location and amenities are great but be sure to know what unit you are in.
I thought this would be a nice place to stay due to the fact that we paid over 1400.00 for five days. We stayed in unit 308 at sawmill creek. We arrived on sunday and from the get go had to listed to running, jumping, crying kids (falling from running) . We called great western the management company and they said they would call the persons above us. I am not sure if they did because we were awaken at 6 am. with the running and jumping and Banging! Yes,,, 6 am!!! We called again and actually every day. I asked to be moved and was told I would have to pay an additional 275.00 WHAT I have to pay for peace and quiet on my vacation??? they were no help at all. Do not stay here, not just for that, now the unit.... There is mold and mildew in the shower of the first bedroom, the carpet is OLD and dirty. When we arrived the sofa and love seat looked as if they found it on the side of the road. It was wore out. It was changed on thursday,, the day before we left. It shoud have been chang
The location is excellent. It is one block to the main street shopping area and one block to the shuttle to the Peak 8 fun park. The rooms were clean and priced competitively. The rental company-- Great Western Lodging-- seemed on the ball and staff were often on site even though the main office was off site. The only real complaint was that the floors were very squeaky. It was easy to hear the people staying above us. We purchased a fan for each room, not realizing that some are in the closet. We used this as white noise.
We booked last minute at Sawmill Creek condos for 2 nights in August. We had a very comfortable condo - right size for two small families (4 adults, 2 kids) - it was clean and had a fun/nice "rustic" decor. Everything was in good condition, except for perhaps one of the showers (door would not completely shut, and the tile needed some work), but the beds were very comfortable and the furniture was all nice. It is right across the street from Main street - and parking was easy as it was the summer time. The minor annoyances: there was a lot of road noise and the condo we stayed in was relatively dark. Also, the Great Western Lodging was not the most "on the ball" of rental agencies. Many condos require at least a 3 night stay - and the price was very good for Sawmill, cheaper than a hotel if you need two rooms. We would stay here again.
