Called hotel direct and was transfered to central booking. Agent was unaware where Toronto was nor knew how to spell it. Booking agent offered and booked a smoking room. Hotel is no smoking. Upon arrival informed of additional fees for parking. Not alot of money but hidden fees are becoming the norm with Days Hotels. When asked why this fee was not advertised up front clerk made several worthless excuses. Parked at conference venue across the road (not associated to Days Hotel) but was charged for it anyway. When noticed at check out was told charge could not be removed. Tired of being nickled and dimed when staying at Days Hotels.
The room was nice and clean but the shower head in the bathroom was very awkward. I felt the shower was small. \i would recommend this hotel to my friends and people I know.
This hotel has gone way down hill. continental breakfast??? say what? you get your own tea/coffee only- waitress(1 only) serves you and you get one, juice, toast, slop for oatmeal or cusaint. No fruit, no danish and no getting a waitress to come back! |Carpet in room horrible- worn out, elevator scary, and dirty, hall dirty- just a real mess of a hotel! this is a 2
I came to this hotel for a business trip; there were a few issues that I encountered. Firstly, when I asked for a wake up call the front desk staff forgot. Also breakfast and the shuttle to the TTC started much later than I needed so not only did I have to pay for parking at the hotel, I also had to pay for parking at Fairvew mall in order to take the subway downtown. Lastly, when I needed to check out in the morning, there was no one at the front desk and the entire parking lot was an ice rink. Other than that the rooms were okay and the cleaning staff were lovely.
The comforter was stained. There was hair in the bathtub. Some rooms had a fridge, others didn't. Front desk wanted to help with issues but weren't qualified. Restaurant wasn't open in the evenings due to renovations (which were done) but this wasn't mentioned on website.
We had a good stay in this hotel. The hotel rooms looked modern and very clean and having a fridge in each was very convenient. Free parking and a shopping mall 1 km away was a plus. The receptionists were very helpful and we enjoyed the continental brekfast. The pool and hot tub area definitely need to be updated but the sauna was nice.
I can see why a few other reviewers would say what this did, but they seem to by exaggerating. Yes, the hotel is a little older. The hotel hallways are darker (built when darkness provided character and ambiance). The pool needs some (very minor) work. But these are very small things. We spent three nights here, and thought the place was great! The check-in (and out) was quick and painless. The room was in great shape. These were three hot days, and there were no issues with the air conditioning. Parking is plentiful, and although not free, $5 per day in Toronto is a bargain. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, and many of the items were extremely tasty, and better than I would have expected. The staff working the breakfast were upbeat, and were always on top of things. My only negative comment about the breakfast would be that it's not set out in the most efficient way, therefore guests can be in the way of each other sometimes. The hotel is extremely handy for a subway
We needed a hotel in Toronto while helping a parent move. Unlike another poster, our room was ready and available, the air conditioning worked well and the breakfast was more extensive than I'm used to finding in this level of hotel & price range - although toast and cereal are my usual breakfast fare. Bagels, muffins, croissants and oranges were also available. The public spaces were fine and the breakfast area was large. Our bathroom had one area of paint/drywall tape peeling. We slept well here and I plan to use the hotel again in October when I am in Toronto for a meeting.
