Stayed at this hotel for one night after visiting our daughter at Auburn - it was one of few available when our plans changed right before the game. Overall, I'd say this hotel is not up to a Holiday Inn standard -it's more the caliber of a $50-$60 night hotel chain. First of all, when we checked in, we discovered our room heat did not work - stopped at the front desk and found our only option was a smoking room (who the heck allows smoking in hotels anymore!?) - so we opted a no on that. Went back up to room, tried to fiddle with the controls a bit more, then finally gave up (as it was late) - went back downstairs to get extra blankets to make the night comfortable. Really, that is the best we can do when the physical plant isn't working? Off to bed, only to find out that the walls are PAPER THIN in this hotel - you can hear the people upstairs and next door using their bathrooms for goodness sake! On top of that, we had an EXTREMELY loud neighbor next door that made us even more sensitive to the fact that we could hear everything....finally, several hours later, a little sleep. In the morning, I would say this old place really showed its age - around grout in shower, gaps where shower head attaches to the wall, gaps around electrical outlets, under doors, etc. It's clear this place has been here a long time and is crying for some TLC and maintenance. I do give management credit though, the place, even though pretty dated, was clean - phew - or we might have had to ask for a refund! Breakfast is offered, but its pretty Spartan..don't count on it! We will look elsewhere next time we are in town!
We frequent the Holiday Inn Express chain and stayed here on our way to Auburn for a game weekend. This hotel was average considered to many of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. Everything was clean, but seemed more dated than others I've stayed at. This hotel is about 20 minutes or so away from Auburn so it would be a good deal for a game weekend compared to the rates in Auburn/Opelika.
Great king sized bed. room was clean. non smoking, Hall smelled as if everybody went in it to smoke. All my clothes stank even when I got home on wed night after only one night there.Take febreze any time you go to a hotel anyway. Poor breakfast. Inside entrance to rooms which is always good. No vending machines. Ice machine broke. Close to service station for late night snack. Price was high, but if you get one of those Alabama magazines which has discount coupons you get a great price. Only good part about this place. It did have Americans running the desk.
This was my first visit to Valley, Alabama. The hotel was an older hotel but was really well kept up. The room (King Suite) was nice, the bed was comfortable and I was very pleased. I was amazed that the hotel had a really great fitness center with an actual multi-station weight set. I did not expect to find that here. The location was great as it is right off I-85. I would definitely recommend it for someone passing through.
I hate to give this place a bad review because the staff was so nice and helpful but we killed 3 bedbugs in the first 30 minutes before moving to another room. I considered moving to another hotel but it was late, we were exhausted and there really weren't any other options in the area. The front desk comped our room and then blocked it until the exterminator comes on Mon. I have no complaints about the response to the incident but I think people should be warned especially since the staff told us they had a problem a year ago with bedbugs. The room size and cleanliness were up to HIE standards but we could've done without the extra company!
Staff at desk was quick and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and nicely appointed. Bed was set with comfortable mattress, nice sheets and big pillows.Breakfast was filling and good. Location was easy to find and had lots of parking. Not much in the neighborhood. Lots of restaurants nearby within a short drive.
Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast..yogurt, sausage and biscuits , cereal and pancakes. For price, we weren't disappointed. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. Room was immaculate with all expected amenities.
Overnight stop on way to FL. Looks to be recent remodel. Clean and neat. Staff was excellent. Good value at $79 for a king bed. Breakfast included was standard HIE hot breakfast. Located just off the Valley AL exit nearGA line. .
Stayed here 2 nights while visiting family nearby. Our room was very clean and we had no problems or issues with checking in or out. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in assisting us with finding different shopping and eating places in the area. We didn't have breakfast as we slept in late each day but there is a Waffle House right next to the hotel so we opted to eat there.
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice enroute to other places. Both times we were met by unusually friendly staff -- from the front desk to the breakfast room to maintenance. This morning I had three letters for outgoing mail. The clerk said she'd handle it. While we were eating breakfast my husband noticed her walking out to the mailbox on the street. Had I realized the box was there I would have done it myself. And, the clerk certainly could have pointed it out to me. Unusually thoughtful and generous service.
