We have stayed at the Summit a couple times and it has always been excellent. We usually get a 1 Bedroom Suite with a King Bed, which also has a murphy bed and sofa bed in the other room. That way each of our kids get their own bed, and we get our own bedroom with a king bed. The king bed units are also quite a bit larger than the others which is nice. Breakfast buffet in the morning is always great. Can't beat the location, the lift is literally right outside the door. We all love the indoor/outdoor hot tub after a long day on the slopes, too. Kids have enjoyed the games and stories that they have in the evenings also.
This hotel is in Big Sky, right at the base of the ski lifts...ski in, ski out. I was there in the fall, and the hotel and the resort were pretty empty, and no matter how hard people try to make these places into 4 season resorts, a ski resort in the fall is not the most attractive place in the world, particularly when not much is open, a lot of construction is going on as they get ready for the ski season, etc. That being said, the Summit is pretty nice. The hotel itself is very big, and not surprisingly, feels and looks a lot like a ski lodge. My room was very large...lots of room for ski equipment, etc. The staff was great...very friendly, very welcoming, and very helpful.I was there for business meetings, and the only meals I had (one group dinner and one breakfast on my own) were fine, but I suspect that when the hotel is full, it will be difficult to get into the restaurant. The hotel worked well for our group, and if I were to come back for skiing, i would probably vote to stay here, if for no other reason than the proximity to the ski slopes...which look pretty interesting.
Big Sky is absolutely beautiful and there is plenty to do any time of the year. Summit at Big Sky is in a perfect location to take advantage of all Montana has to offer. The reception staff is excellent. However, the walls are paper thin. You can clearly hear your neighbors' conversations. Also, the room service leaves a lot to be desired. The service is good, but the food is not-so-good.
True Ski in Ski Out accommodation .We stayed with our 3 adult children. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The indoor/outdoor pool was just perfect after a long day skiing followed by fireside in the living area.Very convenient location as we could walk to most restaurants and there was ski check on the slope side.
Great summer time activities. The Adventure Zip Line was a blast. The Summit has great rooms, with impeccable service and views. We were here for a wedding and stayed 7 days. There was so much to do, all of the guides through Base Camp were a lot of fun.
Stayed here for a long weekend for a business meeting in July. If you don't bring family to enjoy some of the youthful adventure activities, and don't take time to for a day trip to Yellowstone, there's really not a whole lot to do here in the summer other than light hiking, zip lining and downhill mountain biking; none of which are my cup of tea. Many of the activities and shops and restaurants are not available or scaled down. Restaurant service was, shall we say, inexperienced. As for the hotel, it's a good location slopeside. Hotel staff is friendly, to the point of calling your room every day with the next day's activities. I find this quite annoying. Housekeeping was so so. There are conveniences at the resort for charging food and activities to your general account. Wi-Fi is excellent. Personally, as someone familiar with many of the northwest mountain resorts, I don't see the big deal here. It's pretty isolated, and there are many other places with lots more activities year-round. If you're looking for a couple days to stay as a base for a trip to Yellowstone, that's another story. My colleagues who came to this meeting but stayed at other lodging, described this particular hotel as probably the best in the area.
Stayed here in late March for late season skiing. Staff and Hotel are wonderful. Right on the mountain. I stayed in the slopeside corner unit room 611 and 612. Overlooks the two main lifts and stunning view of LONE PEAK.
Hey- it ain't Vail and if that's what you're looking for- you're in the wrong place. However, if you want ultimate convenience, a totally SWAG slope side outdoor heated pool, and some nice bars for après-ski- this is your place. The mountain is awesome- great for families or the hard core survivalist. Low key, relaxing, fun.
This property has a great location and incredible ski access to Big Sky Resort. I had a Studio room with a Murphy bed and overall it was comfortable. It was a bit annoying to not be able to watch TV from bed but it was nice to have the kitchen facilities. The restaurant was OK. I'm not a big fan of breakfast buffet's and the servers weren't sure where people were sitting or when they were seated. They have a second restaurant but it is all the same food. Close to the lifts, close to other restaurants and bars. Montana is a great place to go and even though it was "busy" there was still no one around! This property gave me everything I needed and everything I expected, just nothing spectacular. Met my expectations and I'd stay there again.
Some highlights: - Giant hot tub w/drink service - Huge breakfast - Thoughtful and helpful service - Spacious rooms Really enjoyed skiing at Big Sky and staying at the Summit. The team that works at the hotel did a great job. Expect things to take a little longer than they do in cities and you'll really enjoy your stay. My room was $183/night, so it could be less of a value if you're paying more.
