So why only 4 stars I sense you're asking? Well, this was certainly one of the best hotels I've stayed at, certainly in the Canaries, but it was also the most expensive and I have to take that into consideration when writing a review. In truth there were a few minor niggles from my perspective but I would, without question, recommend this hotel. The bad news first. One of the reasons we picked this hotel was because they had a spa. Mixed weather in the Canaries previously had lead me to believe that we might need something to do during the day. What I didn't realise was that the Spa is actually run independently and you have to buy a service in order to use the facility. The cheapest option would have cost my wife & I 50 euros for 1 1/2 hours. I can get a month’s gym membership in the UK for that price. At a similar hotel in Fuerteventura last year we were able to use the Spa for free only being charged extra for treatments. Needless to say we didn’t use the spa although the weather was beautiful so, in the end, we didn’t really need it. The rooms were not the most sound-proofed I'd ever stayed in & I was woken a couple of times at night for this reason. There was air con in the room although I couldn't see how it worked. I suppose I could have asked but it wasn't really necessary as it went quite cool in the evenings. In fact, given the size of the hotel and the facilities at our disposal, hotel information in general was perhaps a bit lacklustre, especially in our room. Wi-Fi in the room could also be a bit hit and miss but really good in public areas and by the pools. That said, the positives far outweighed any negative comments. The hotel was beautiful. It’s in a fantastic location and most the staff are excellent. We stayed on a B&B rate and the breakfast was fab. A fantastic selection and beautifully presented. The pool areas were really well maintained and we never had any problems finding a sunbed (although I thought they were a bit close together). Our room was delightful. I’d suggest the higher floors are best for views etc but we were on the 2nd floor with a partial sea view and it was lovely. Very spacious and well maintained. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. A tribute to all that work there. Despite some other comments I’d say it’s definitely a 5 star hotel and would not hesitate to recommend. To be honest there were a lot of facilities that we didn’t really use like the kids area (which looked really impressive) and we didn’t use any of the restaurants other than the buffet breakfast. I did visit the gym a couple of time and that was fine, albeit a little warm. It’s a huge hotel but don’t let that put you off. It’s not lacking in character and there are some really nice touches such as the heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. One final point, the resort. Something for everyone. Some good restaurants, a really nice beach (right outside the hotel), very clean & well maintained throughout and a great area for walks or cycle rides but definitely the Princesa Yaiza is the hotel to stay at.

I'm staying here right now and can say this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. It's maybe my 30th visit to the canaries and I've stayed in all types of accommodation in the 20 plus years of visiting from self catering to 5 star. People complaining this isn't 5⭐️ are comparing with other countries. This might not beat a 4 ⭐️in London but we're not in London. The staff here are the best, from the reception and bell boys to the cleaning maids, they are here to try to please everyone, even the difficult sour old bag pensioners that are surrounding us. The negatives have been mentioned, rooms are very noisy, I can even hear the pensioners thinking about moaning before a word has been said. The room has no bidet! This is a first for me but there are two sinks at a good height . The bed is two large singles pushed together which we hate because we still quite like each other. And a complaint for the ladies, there is no mirror in the bedroom with a socket near it!!!!!!! There is one in the bathroom though. During the day hardly anyone buys a poolside drink here. A can of coke size beer costs €3.5 which is probably the reason why. The hotel will say its in line with.....,blah blah But it's too expensive for such a small amount. A poolside rum and coke and red wine €12.5 !!!! Most of us here have the money but we're not stupid, that's why we have the money. Those are the only negatives for us. This is a huge well run hotel with great service and staff. The food is superb and the breakfast is the best hotel breakfast in the canaries. This is the first hotel for me to serve great coffee at breakfast. It's not from a vending machine, it is fresh and brought to the table. Playa Blanca is a little too quiet for us for the pub scene, so we may not return. If there were a Tenerife Sax Bar here then we would. If you love Irish bars and the usual din of "it's a long way to Tipperary" then great! This is a great relaxing hotel, if relaxing is your thing then you will love the PY

Myself and my husband had our honeymoon at the Princesa Yaiza, and were made to feel very special the moment we stepped out of our taxi. We were only able to have a short honeymoon so decided to go to the Canaries, an article in a bridal magazine recommended the resort so we made our booking based on this and the positive feedback on this website. After checking in with a glass of cava we were taken to our suite. The hotel interior is very modern and has a lovely open and natural vibe. Our suite was lovely, it had every thing we needed and lots of storage (even on a short break I pack enough for a month!!). Each evening a delightful lady would come in to turn down the bed and leave a chocolate on the pillow :) The hotel has two large pools, one is heated and the other is an un-heated salt water pool. We didn't brave the salt water pool and stuck to the heated pool. We never had any problem getting a sun-bed (some previous reviews complained at the lack of beds, but this was not a problem for us). We only used the hotels restaurants for breakfast - but we tried all three, and each of them was brilliant. A good selection of choices, fresh juice machine and best of all a glass of cava to start your day with. There are lots of restaurants in and around the hotel which we used for our evening meal as we like to do a bit of exploring. The hotel had a variety of entertainment in the evening, which we only took advantage of a couple of times. These were reasonably good, albeit there was never a large audience presumable as we visited in low season.

Just returned from this hotel and had a lovely time! Staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Rooms were spotlessly clean but was surprised they didn't replenish tea and coffee. Have to agree with other reviewers who say that rooms can be quite noisy. On our forth night a family arrived upstairs and the noise was unbearable! The management try to deal with it and there was a slight improvement but if we had been staying longer we would have defiantly insisted they were moved. Food was nice but as a vegetarian the choice was very limited. Spa was good but very expensive for average treatments. Gym was great though with excellent equipment! The hotel was pretty busy and I was surprised at the amount of young children there. Although we were at the adult only pool meal times could be quite chaotic with prams, high chairs and children running wild! I would return but only at a time there were less kids!

Sencillamente genial.
