The hotel has excellent location, in a safe and quiet neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and bars, walking distance from metro and city center. The staff - especially the ladies - were very helpful to assist with information and practical help. The breakfast is rich and varied. Beds and sleeping comfort was good. One disadvantage, the rooms are small and you feel limited by them all the time, even if I had the comfort room (22 sam) which wasn't even the smalles available. The desk is too small to sit at or even contemplate working on a computer, the bath room cramped you cannot move to have a proper bath. Storage space is limited. For business travellers who also need a workspace or couples with a bit more luggage, the rooms are too small. One thing I do not understand: this is the x-thiest hotel where I book a one bed room as opposed to two separate beds, and where this request was not fulfilled. Why offer the option to book this specifically if it isn't delivered. Hotelpeople: go try out your own rooms and beds as a couple, and you hopefully know what I mean. Another noon: the hotel staff turned off the airconditioning at night through a masterswitch, When would a guest need zircon? Right, at night...So I felt the hotel did not deliver its promise of offering aircon as an amenity
On the plus side, the location was convenient for me - close to my conference and relatively close to the train station. That's about it for the plus side. On the negative side, the staff were incredibly unfriendly, sometimes rude, other times absolutely useless... I asked for a wake up call that they completely forgot to deliver! In my failed attempt to call another guest at the hotel, I asked reception, who just said 'your phone does't work' without any offer of fixing it or helping me in anyway. They then forgot or ignored giving the message I requested to my friend staying at another room! Some aspects of the hotel felt like being at a prison. At 7:30 AM, every morning, they would knock on my door to come for cleaning! This is not a big hotel at all, and it's not that hard to notice people leaving their room, given that I was on the 1st floor and they were always outside my door! I am not sure who decided 7:30 AM was a good time to start making people feel uncomfortable about being in their rooms! Worst of all was breakfast... you do not feel welcome there at all! There are 2 absolutely unfriendly staff members, who walk up and down the small, crammed breakfast room. Their role is to approach guest in the most awkward time and most unfriendly manner and ask for their room number (to make sure you have paid for breakfast). They seem to have no social skills what so ever - they walk up to you abruptly as you are trying to navigate the small space or as you are eating. They never smile and never remember your face (not even after 6 days). Sometimes 2 people ask you for your room number in the same morning. It's hard to explain how awkward this is... maybe its the fact that the room is so small and crammed to begin with. The fact that you are already eating - or trying to - a little too late to ask. The fact that they don't have any official list they are checking the room numbers against. The fact that they refuse to smile or treat you like a guest... it really makes the place feel like a prison or schoolyard, when you are being watched and might be in trouble with the 'authority' at any time (even when you have pre-paid for breakfast for your entire stay) I have no idea why they don't have a front desk, where they can 'GREET' guests, smile perhaps, and ask for the room number before you enter. Or try to do something useful, like pour coffee for newcomers, and ask them the room number at that point. They do nothing useful for guests, just walk around, and pick on them randomly, creating a negative atmosphere. So unfriendly and awkward! So bad. The room is one of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever stayed at. Mostly functioning and sufficient - with the exception of some phone functionality that was never fixed, and water puddles inevitably created outside the shower since it's so tiny and lacks a shower door. The tiny lobby tries too hard to be a 'club' when it's just another small, crammed space (with a disco ball!)
The best part about the hotel is the location. It's literally right across the street from the hauptbahnhof. It's minutes from the altstadt. There are tons of restaurants around at all price points. However, the rooms are microscopic -- even by European standards -- and the lobby leaves something to be desired. On the plus side, there's a small outdoor patio where you can enjoy a Weißbier after work. One note of caution: the neighboring hotels seem to cater to young backpacker types and you will may "old" in comparison.
The rooms were tiny and the bathroom so small I had to step into the main room to dry myself after showering. There are stairs to negotiate before you get to the lift which only fits one person their luggage. On the upper levels the lift lobby door interferes with lift access. The breakfast selection varied. The advertised free wifi does not exist and the pricing for wifi is very high and access speed is atrocious. Would not recommend. Have stayed at better hotels in Munich for a similar price
What a great find! This hotel is in a great location. The rooms are modern and cosy. The bed is super comfy as are the pillows. Air conditioning was a huge bonus - especially as it was 38 degrees whilst we were there - the air con was set at the perfect temperature and the room was quiet. The bathroom was lovely and have every added extra you could imagine - shampoo, shower gel, moisturisers, spare toothbrushes, spare disposable razors - you name it, it was there. The receptionist was really friendly and gave us advice on where to find good bars and restaurants. The café across the way was great for breakfast if you didn't want to eat at the hotel. Location wise: to walk into the city centre takes no more than 10 minutes. in the area around the hotel there are loads of little cafes/restaurants and nice places to go for a drink. No massive bustling bars, just quiet little places. Felt really safe walking around the area too. Its not too far from the university so has a nice relaxed vibe around the area.
i stayed 3 nights in this hotel at the centre of Munich, only a few minutes walking from marienplatz, Englisher Garten and metro stop. It's very conveniently located and very reasonably priced, in view of its location. The room I had was really small (single room) but had all the necessary comfort and was clean. The bathroom was less than 1 sq meter, and had nevertheless a shower, sink and toilet, but it was really really small. not much noise from the outside was heard, probably because I had a rear room. a big minus are the very noisy door locks, so that when someone closes a door at night, the whole floor wakes up. the breakfast was marvelous, even with prosecco. very nice. I recommend this hotel for business trips but they should do something about the noisy locks. staff was very friendly.
Besides revamped furnishes, new decor and cool environment, rooms could prime more for cleanliness. I didn't feel the vacuum is used very often in the rooms, I felt a kind of dust from the rugs / carpets. Anyway, breakfast was OK and staff is polite and helped with a lot of questions about the city. The air conditioned didnt work at any time and the room got really heated.
