My husband and I just got back from the Westgate Myrtle Beach NC. We had a 3 night stay. At check-in, which wasn't until about 8 PM on Friday due to large volume of traffic, we were greeted very pleasantly and given our room number and keys. Much to our surprise, even a little after 8 PM, we opened the door to our room and it hand't yet been cleaned from the previous guests. We went out to eat after notifying the front desk and it was taken care of by the time we got back. The room was basically clean, with the exception of the shower, which could definitely Use a Good scrubbing and some Tilex for the mildew on the grout. The staff was very pleasant. I was actually taken aback at those writing reviews who said the staff is rude. We didn't find that at all. Probably wouldn't go back as it is pretty run down but not a horrible experience.
Rude staff..bad food....dirty with bugs. Never again my friend, never again. The worst was the management staff who seemed perturbed at our fustrations. They made it seem we were the problem. When my poor wife got a rash from the bed they said maybe she has allergies. Nice.
Great place very clean never had problems staying at we state will stay again. Service was great and rooms clean. The north tower is for owners and nice. Staff was ready to assist any problems you have.
I booked this 7 day vacation through Interval International without issue, I had never stayed here before and was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews. First, the condo/timeshare villas are beautiful! All I could see of the old hotel was the outside and it does look pretty beat up. We were informed by the staff that they've tried to update it but they're pretty old and there's only so much that can be done. Shortly they will start to demolish them and replace them entirely with the timeshare villas. My husband and I checked in fairly late on a Friday evening, around 10:30 p.m. We were very surprised to see a line of cars waiting to pull in and some guests sitting on folding chairs outside the front entrance. There were staff with clipboards coming up to each car to get last names and confirm reservations, instruct us where to pull in and where to go for check-in. The reason them being so busy was due to Myrtle Beach's annual fall bike week which I had been unaware of
Just returned from my first visit to the USA. Went to Myrtle Beach, stayed at the Westgate Oceanfront Resort. Staff were helpful, friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, The location is right on the beach. This beach is very clean, the water quality is good too. Would most certainly stay there again, any time.

STAYED IN THE OLDER BUILDING 1 BED ROOM DELUXE, OCEAN FRONT. GREAT VIEW!!! It was 4th of July week, very busy, HOT. Room was very clean. No bed bugs(had read a review before we came and they said they had found some)there was no reason to worry, Resort was very clean . Even our dog was greeted and made to feel very special.
We stayed in the new tower, which seems MUCH nicer than the old one. The room was clean, the beds were fine. Maintenance in general was not very good, the tower entrance door was broken, out toilet was broken when we first got into the room, the main gate to the beach was broken. One issue is that there is no daily housekeeping service, which they do NOT tell you during check-in. Since we paid quite a lot of $$$, I was expecting a hotel-level service, but that is not the case. We had the same towels etc. for 4 days. You have to make your own bed. For $300/night? They also distinguish between "Owners" and the (paying) rest. For example, the beach chairs and umbrellas are only for timeshare owners, not for guests. The general area is very loud at night with the amusement park music blaring. On another note: this was our first (and last) time in Myrtle Beach. Several friends warned us about the strange crowd there and they were right. Drunks in muscle shirts, screaming teens,
AAA should have never given this dump a three diamond rating. The place was filty, understaffed and in shambles. Our AC unit did not work to the point I could not go in the room. The restaurant bathroom had a pipe burst and the 1 maintenance man had 5 other calls besides my AC and the restaurant bathroom. I finally had to request a full refund in order for management to change my room. The 2nd room was not much better than the first. At 7:30am we could not find any luggage carts to leave. Management could not come up with any either. This is the worst experience I have ever had. We will NEVER recommend WestGate at any location in the US.
We had read many reveiws on this resort. We found it to be a great place. Yes, the parking garage isn't done but they are working on it - if there are no spots you only had to walk across the street. The staff was always friendly and more than willing to help!! Location is great!! Matt Gallup went out of his way to be sure our vacation was enjoyable!! Evenings the resort was very quiet!!! Can't wait to go back next year
